Like sunshine in winter, Apricity is a gentle and natural learning space for our children that is warm and full of curiosity. We create a close-knit community of learners and explorers. Our curriculum allows us to dive into place-based learning, while connecting with ourselves, each other and the Earth! Apricity has both indoor and outdoor learning, with plenty of time to explore the wild woods and streams and care for animals.

Our days begin with warm mugs of garden tea and beautiful stones in our hands so that we can ground in our space and imagine the upcoming day. We honor the interests of each learner, while guiding instruction in a gentle, inclusive way. We carefully build an atmosphere of kindness and curiosity, compassion and forgiveness.

Much of our time is spent outdoors noticing the changing of the seasons. We make discoveries in science, document our findings with writing and art, quantify with numbers, and connect with each other through observation and listening, all with the natural world as our landscape.

We will start the week of September 7th, and follow the CVSD school calendar, with vacation weeks. Our last day will be May 26th. Tuition for the full year is $7920, or $880 per month. The deposit comes off the first month’s tuition.

Children put on the waitlist will be added if a place opens, or put in a priority spot for next year’s registration.

Hello, my name is Rini and I am honored to be a teacher at Apricity as well at Treewild.  I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator with a focus of being with children in nature.  There is a quality about being in the natural world that allows for children be authentically who they are as well as find possibilities for learning and growing around every corner.  As a native Vermonter, I love how the seasons can drastically change a landscape which then changes what it has to offer.  I believe having a space that fosters children’s learning through nature and their own inspiration and inquiries is a right of childhood.

I have worked at various early childhood centers and preschools in Chittenden and Addison county, many with a Reggio Emilia or social constructivist lens.  I love going for walks and adventures at LaPlatte and Meach Cove my partner, Declan, and two children Mo (6) and Lia (4).

My name is Lizzy Woolf and I am passionate about holding space for children to deeply connect with and learn from their world. I find joy in watching children become themselves, as individuals and in community with each other and the Earth. I deeply believe that this happens when children are given the time to explore and the support to learn. I find awe in intuitive connections, serendipitous knowings, and I believe in the power of science.

It is a dream come true to do this work through Apricity. I also do this deeply throughout my life as a parent, a homesteader, and holder of a wide variety of intentional spaces. I spend many of my days curating a collection of semi-precious stones and tending the gardens and animals on my family’s homestead (Woolf Den Homestead) in Monkton with my wife, Nora, and child, Judah.
